Program

The Gruppo Lavoro was established in 1994 to reflect on labour from women’s point of view. We consider such reflection valuable and indispensable for everyone, men and women alike. The group, with its political practice, has involved over the time diverse women from diverse work sectors, producing new thinking around these matters.
At the center of the group's practice stands listening to the experience of women at work in the context of today’s structural transformations in the work environement and in the economy. Listening means creating space for women to authorize themselves to speak, to read their experiences at work and in life, to value them. It means entering into a relationship, an exchange.

We want to place ourselves as active subjects at the center of the political discourse on labor, to demonstrate what has always been concealed, to illuminate the behind-the-scenes of a social contract modeled on the independent male worker. We take the freedom to appropriate that word – “work” – and radically rethink its meaning.

With this conference, we would like to look beyond and push pre-imposed boundaries at work. We are doing so by bringing together and bridging the work experiences of a group of women from all kind of fields.

Free admission.
