Styles of radical will. Women in the arts is a multilayered cultural program by BilderAtlas. The biennial initiative expands our investigations beyond regular presentations and activities by offering a series of meetings focused on women’s work in the arts and culture as practices of resistance, relationship, and revolution.

By thinking through images as well as words, we aim to foster research, exchange, and discussion around questions of gender, with a particular focus on women’s representation and innovative organisation models stemming from creative practices. We believe that by promoting the recognition of women artists in the creative fields, and by acknowledging their historical contributions, we can expand the notion of contemporary artistic creation for all, not just foster a separate Frauenkultur.

The program includes public and private gatherings, workshops, seminars, and a podcast. These initiatives are designed to widely disseminate research on women’s studies and to establish new practices in collaboration with universities, museums, publishing houses, brands, and other institutional and independent organisations internationally.
