Styles of radical will

Styles of radical will. Women in the arts is our multilayered cultural program.

The program expands our investigations beyond regular presentations and activities, offering a series of discussions centered on women’s work in the creative fields as a practice of resistance, relation-making, and revolution.

That of women is the winning revolution of our time. We argue that a shift in the realms of art, labor, and politics is possible because women have, and continue to, develop new paradigms and models to rethink identity, our social roles, and our relationships with one another.

By engaging with images and words, we aim to foster research, exchange, and dialogue on women’s presence and representation in the arts and cultural sectors, and cultivate innovative organizational models in an effort to withstand the pressure of cultural canonisation.

We believe that by advancing the recognition of women and acknowledging their historical contributions, we can expand the notion of contemporary artistic creation for all, not just promote a separate Frauenkultur, and facilitate forms of cooperation.

The program includes both in-person activities, such as public and private gatherings, seminars, and installations, as well as online offerings – a podcast and a newsletter. These initiatives are designed to widely disseminate our research and establish new practices in partnership with universities, museums, galleries, bookstores, brands, and other organizations internationally.

Styles of radical will is named after Susan Sontag's 1969 collection of essays.
